With the arrival of our little man, it became clear that I needed to FINALLY put my website to use. And so, friends and family, this site is now dedicated to our new lives as parents.
It’s the Smith Sandbox, in a way, because this is where we will laugh and play. Please feel free to comment/critique…I’m still trying to figure out what I’m doing. I hope, though, that this becomes a fun place to check out what Sawyer is up to. So…sit back and laugh…it’s gonna be a fun ride…

We are seeing a range of voices doing lots of loud and very public talking these days, on the internet and in a secular media which so often chronicles only shrilly opposing voices (“Conservatives vs. Liberals”). In light of all these voices, I intend to differentiate myself from them and to offer a venue for those in a different place.

I've been a priest for 17 years. I was trained in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. That's the brief explanation for using such an archaic term. There is another one, however... I know that God called me to be a priest because God didn't trust me as a layperson. God pulls me from the pit of destruction by the collar of my priestly vows every day. I use the term as a reminder that I am always a "person under authority."
